Romania International Music Competition
Named after Romania, the musical nation that produced Enescu, Lipatti, and Celibidache, this is a full-fledged international competition. It discovers and supports talented performers in the piano, vocal, string, wind, percussion, and ensemble categories, and winners receive an invitation to Romania—the right to participate in an autumn concert tour. Take a big step towards soaring to the world stage, starting here.
Romania International Junior Music Competition
This competition is for children who will lead the next generation, and is open to students from kindergarten through the third year of high school. Regional preliminaries are held in more than 10 cities in Japan and overseas, and young performers from all over the country and abroad gather for the finals in Tokyo. The winners' recital is held at the Romanian Embassy in the presence of the Romanian Ambassador to Japan, and it is a stage that fosters not only technical skills but also curiosity about different cultures and an international sensibility.
Exchange concert
An open concert connecting the musical cultures of Japan and Romania. Reviving traditional musical pieces from both countries for the modern era, association members, prize winners, and Romanian musicians come together to deliver a musical experience. In collaboration with the local community, it's a venue that makes classical music more accessible, and is enjoyed by many attendees every year.
Concerto Series for Juniors
This association's unique concert series offers children the dream opportunity to perform with an orchestra. This collaborative experience, different from typical recitals, provides junior musicians with a great boost in confidence and a springboard for future success. We wholeheartedly support young talents aiming for the next stage through the power of music.
performance trip
This special tour, which combines concerts and sightseeing throughout Romania, has been running since 2005. Excluding the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been held more than 20 times, with over 100 participants in total. It is an unforgettable 6-night, 8-day experience where you can feel Romania with all your senses through performances in historic venues in Bucharest, Brașov, Pitiște, and other cities, as well as through encounters with the food, culture, and people.
Summer Seminar (IconArts)
You can participate in Icon Arts' summer seminars held in Romania and Moldova through the association. By receiving masterclasses directly from leading Romanian musicians and interacting with local students and musicians, you will not only improve your performance skills but also cultivate a new perspective on music and a deeper understanding of different cultures.
